Laboratory work is an important part in training specialists. Experiments in laboratories and workshops will help students to develop their practical skills.
Computer technology with specialized mathematical software ensures solution to a wide range of problems of statistical analysis and modeling of mineral deposits in order to calculate reserves of useful minerals.
In the hallway of our chair located stands with numerous samples of different minerals and rocks, as natural formation, and synthetic formation. Most of them were brought by geologists of our chair from geological expeditions and travels.

Almost all people love travelling. There are many ways to travel: by plane, train, car or by ship. My favorite way of travelling is by travelling by car. Travelling by car have many advantages. For example you can make a stop in any place you want. You can choose your own route. But disadvantage is that you have to sit all the way long. Nowdays the most popular way of travelling is travelling by plane because it’s fast and comfortable. But it’s rather expensive. I have never flown by plane, but hope one day I will do it, because my friends said that it’s amazing. I travel by train every year: more often in summer, when I travel to village to meet my granny. The most interesting train trip for me was when I travelled by “Sapsan” train. It looked like plain inside and it was very fast. Travelling by ship is least popular way of travelling. But many tourists use ships to travel from Saint-Petersburg to Finland, Sweden and Norway. The most advantage of ship journey is that you can see beautiful views of sea and ocean. Last year I travelled to Finland. It was amazing! I visited Helsinki and Lahti, where I bought many souvenirs and spent good time with my friends. If I had time and money I’d probably travel around the whole world, visit every corner.
